Recent natural disaster news shows that extreme weather phenomena such as floods, forest fires and droughts are increasing in frequency and intensity. One concrete example is the floods that hit Southeast Asia, which are closely related to increased rainfall due to climate change. In Indonesia, for example, the flood disaster in Jakarta damaged infrastructure and resulted in significant economic losses. Southeast Asia, including the Philippines and Thailand, also experienced severe flooding that affected thousands of lives and destroyed agricultural land. The forest fires that hit Australia and the United States are also in the spotlight. Sustained dry weather and high temperatures create ideal conditions for forest fires.
